Dispenser of India's destiny, thou art the ruler of the minds of all people Here's the official English Translation of the Indian National Anthem, Jana Gana Mana Jana Gana Mana was officially announced as the Indian National Anthem on January 24th, 1950 by the Constituent assembly, just two days before the Indian Republic day.Īlthough written in Bengali, the pronunciation of the anthem varies considerably across India due to the country's extensive linguistic diversity. Jana Gana Mana is written by the great Rabindranath Tagore, and was originally composed by Ram singh Thakur in 1911 and was first sung at the Indian National congress on 27th Dec, 1911.
